Portage Path Behavioral Health Receives $10,000 Health & Human Services Grant from Akron Community Foundation to Support Co-Occurring Treatment Program
[January 16, 2025, Akron, OH] — Portage Path Behavioral Health is proud to announce that it has been awarded a generous $10,000 Health & Human Services grant from the Akron Community Foundation to support its Co-Occurring Disorder (COD) Treatment Program. This vital funding supports Portage Path by increasing and enhancing Co-Occurring Treatment Program services for those individuals diagnosed with mental health issues and substance use disorders by increasing access to those most in need.
Portage Path’s Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment Program addresses the complex needs of individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorders. Approximately 60% of Portage Path Behavioral Health’s clients are diagnosed with both mental health issues and substance use disorders known as Dual Diagnosis. The Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment Program provides a more effective and efficient path to recovery through a client-centered, comprehensive approach that combines Individual Outpatient Treatment (IOP), Group Therapy, and Peer Support Services for Dual Diagnosis patients. By integrating evidence-based therapies and individualized care plans, the COD Treatment Program helps clients achieve sustainable recovery and improved quality of life.
